Perfect for small plants, this planter has been made using liquid porcelain (casting slip) which was poured into a handmade plaster mould. Once firm enough to handle, the leaf design was freehand painted around the un-fired planter using wax resist. Once the wax was dry, the surface was wiped away to leave a delicate relief effect on the porcelain.
After the bisque firing (the first firing), glossy translucent glaze was brushed onto the inside of the vessel before being fired for a second time - making it suitable for use as a planter.
